Showers will be on and off throughout this Mother’s Day a few showers; some may be heavy this morning with another round to come this afternoon. Spots in the area have generally seen around a quarter of an inch of rain or so with another quarter or so to go.
The threat for flooding still exists, but thankfully we haven’t seen as much widespread rainfall. Expect only slight flooding in spots prone, but we will have to watch out for a few heavy bands of rain during the day. If they fall on the right places that have high water tables and well as creeks and streams, we could experience some minor flooding.
Thankfully most of the showers and storms associated with this system will remain to our south. This area is also where we see the Flood Watch in and around Harrisonburg until 6 p.m. this evening. A marginal risk of severe weather will stay to our south. We will only see rainfall and maybe a rumble of thunder.
A few showers may linger into our day Monday with a chance of on and off showers. The system will be slow to clear, and we will continue to see clouds going into Tuesday. Tuesday, we look to clear out to partly cloudy skies with sunnier skies to come Wednesday.
It looks as if we have the potential for four days of dry weather, Wednesday through Saturday. Temperatures will finally rise out of the 50’s and 60’s and into the 70’s and potentially 80’s!
Here is a look at your 7-day forecast:
