Good Wednesday evening, everyone! After a pair of very humid days, including a lot of rain yesterday, we’re finally being treated to near perfect mid-July weather! High pressure will continue to move into the Northeast, setting up shop for the next couple of days. This will keep conditions calm and skies mostly clear, allowing temperatures tonight to fall well into the low 60’s. If you couldn’t get outside today, try again tomorrow. It’ll be another wonderful day with sunny skies and seasonable temperatures all around. We’ll be marginally warmer on Friday, and humidity may creep up just a little bit as well. With that aside, Friday should still be a great day for outdoor activities as well.
As we head into the weekend, things begin to change and not necessarily for the better. An upper level trough will move into the region on Saturday, and while the morning is dry, we do run the risk for some showers and storms in the afternoon. A surface area of low pressure will also form off the coast on Sunday, sending another source of moisture our way…though impacts from this low won’t be direct. With the extra cloud cover in place, temperatures will take a bit of a hit on both days this weekend. Our soggy pattern will continue through the first half of next week, and while no wash-outs are expected, we do have a daily chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms…any of which could contain heavy rain.
Here’s a look at your extended forecast:
