Good Wednesday morning! After a beautiful summer-like Tuesday, we’re in for more warm weather today. Highs will top off in the mid to upper 80’s as an upper level ridge continues to keep us dry. However, southerly flow will begin to kick in and showers could creep into the Potomac Highlands as moisture moves in from a disturbance to west this afternoon. The remainder of the region will stay dry, warm, and sunny.
Things change into Thursday’s forecast. Southerly flow will bring in increasing moisture, not only giving us afternoon pop-up thunderstorms but also possibly higher humidity. Temperatures remain in the 80’s tomorrow, but you’ll want the umbrella close by in the afternoon. Friday will also be unsettled with afternoon storm chances and even higher humidity.
The weekend is about half/half. Most areas will remain dry on Saturday, but moisture from a coastal system will flow into the region by Sunday. We’ll stay warm, in the 80’s, through the weekend but watch out for afternoon storms by Sunday. Memorial Day will feel a bit more like May temperatures, only in the mid to upper 70’s. Showers/storms could also be a possibility on Monday as well as into Tuesday.
