More warmth for Northern Virginia on Thursday

Nova Forecast

Coastal fog possible

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (WDVM) — NICE, DRY WEATHER WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE END OF THE WEEK, BUT EACH MORNING THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY FOR AREAS OF DENSE FOG. TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE TO BE ABOVE NORMAL, BUT BY FRIDAY, TEMPERATURES WILL SLOWLY DROP, AS MORE CLOUDS MOVE IN DUE TO A COLD FRONT APPROACHING FROM THE WEST. BY SATURDAY MORNING, A COLD FRONT WILL BE GETTING CLOSER TO THE REGION. AS IT SLOWLY TREKS THROUGH THE NORTHEAST AND OUR AREA, THERE COULD BE A FEW PASSING SHOWERS, BUT HEAVY RAIN IS NOT EXPECTED. THE CURRENT THINKING IS THAT TEMPERATURES SHOULD CLIMB INTO THE 70S BEFORE THE FRONT MOVES THROUGH, BUT SHOULD DROP SHARPLY THEREAFTER. SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY THE FRONT WILL SINK TO OUR SOUTH, KEEPING OUR AREA PARTLY SUNNY, BUT THE THERMOMETER WILL BE DROPPING SIGNIFICANTLY, WITH HIGHS ONLY IN THE 60S. HEADING INTO NEXT WEEK, SPECIFICALLY TUESDAY NIGHT, ANOTHER COLD FRONT LOOKS TO DROP INTO THE AREA, ALLOWING FOR EVEN COOLER AIR TO SLOWLY PROGRESS INTO OUR BACKYARDS. EXPECT DAYTIME HIGHS TO BE SOME 5 TO 10 DEGREES COOLER THAN NORMAL BY THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.

TONIGHT: MAINLY CLEAR WITH PATCHY FOG. LOWS RANGE FROM 54-62 DEGREES.

THURSDAY: MOSTLY SUNNY, DRY AND VERY WARM. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 70S TO LOWER 80S.

FRIDAY: BECOMING MOSTLY CLOUDY. HIGHS IN THE MID-70S.

SATURDAY: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH SPRINKLES/SHOWERS AROUND. HIGHS IN THE LOW TO MID-70S.

SUNDAY: PARTLY CLOUDY. HIGHS AROUND 60 DEGREES.

MONDAY: MOSTLY CLOUDY. HIGHS IN THE LOWER 70S.

TUESDAY: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH SOME AFTERNOON SHOWERS. HIGHS AROUND 70 DEGREES.

WEDNESDAY: MOUNTAIN SHOWERS OTHERWISE VARIABLY CLOUDY. HIGHS AROUND 60 DEGREES.

HAVE A GREAT REST OF YOUR DAY!
