Light snow possible Sunday before Monday’s event

Nova Forecast

Sunny and breezy for Saturday. Clouds will pull back in for Sunday, giving us a chance of a wintry mix Monday afternoon and evening. While some will see snow, freezing rain may be the dominant player in this next system. It will be something to watch as we go through Monday into Tuesday. The current model suggests 2-4 inches of snow along I-70 with the possibility of a quarter of an inch of ice. The mountains and highlands may see more ice than snow. Stay tuned for the latest weather prediction.

While areas across the Northern Shenandoah Valley may see some snow, the ice looks to be the top hazard with this next wintry event.

After the wintry weather to begin the week, another chance of snow will come into play late Wednesday night into Thursday. The weather pattern looks more active as we close out January and head into February.
