Give yourself extra time for work Wednesday morning, due to dense fog

Nova Forecast

Foggy conditions Wednesday morning

HAGERSTOWN, Md. ( WDVM) — VISIBILITIES WILL BE REDUCED IN PLACES OVERNIGHT, WITH AREAS MOST LIKELY SEE DENSE FOG, BEING EAST OF I-81 TO THE COAST. TEMPERATURES WILL ONCE AGAIN BE MILD AND IN THE MIDDLE AND UPPER 40S. WEDNESDAY WILL START CLOUDY WITH AREAS OF DRIZZLE AND FOG, BUT SOME RAYS OF SUNSHINE COULD BE SEEN GOING INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON AND AHEAD OF A STORM THAT FORMS ALONG THE BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS THURSDAY MORNING. WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE NOW IN THE FORECAST FOR THE LATE AFTERNOON TO AROUND 10 PM, WITH A FEW T-STORMS POSSIBLY SEVERE IN NATURE, DUE TO STRENGTHENING WIND. BEHIND THE FRONT, THE AIR MASS WILL TURN MUCH COLDER QUICKLY, PRODUCING ACCUMULATING SNOW IN WESTERN GRANT AND PENDLETON COUNTIES TO THE TUNE OF 1-3 INCHES. THURSDAY WILL LIKELY BE BLUSTERY WITH WINDS GUSTING UP TO 40 MPH.

TODAY THE MODELS HAVE BEEN GOING BACK AND FORTH ON WHETHER A WEAK SYSTEM WILL DROP INTO OUR REGION FRIDAY AFTERNOON INTO SATURDAY MORNING. IF THE DISTURBANCE DOES MOVE IN, THEN TEMPERATURES WOULD BE COLD ENOUGH TO INITIATE THE PRECIPITATION TO BE IN THE FORM OF SNOW. IT’S A FEW DAYS OUT, BUT THERE STILL REMAINS A LOT OF UNCERTAINTY REGARDING THE WEAK STORM. REGARDLESS OF ANY SNOW SHOWERS/FLURRIES AT THE END OF THE WEEK AND INTO THE WEEKEND, THE ONE CONSTANT IS THAT IT WILL BE COLD. FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY WILL SEE DAYTIME HIGHS AROUND THE FREEZING MARK WITH OVERNIGHT LOWS BOTTOMING OUT IN THE UPPER TEENS A LOWER TO MIDDLE 20S. HIGH PRESSURE WILL THEN LOOK TO RETURN FOR THE FIRST WEEK OF MARCH WITH TEMPERATURES RISING NEAR TO SLIGHT ABOVE NORMAL FOR THE TIME OF THE YEAR.

HERE’S A LOOK AT YOUR EXTENDED FORECAST:

TONIGHT: CLOUDY WITH SOME DRIZZLE AND PATCHY DENSE FOG. LOWS IN THE MID TO UPPER 40S.

WEDNESDAY: MORNING DRIZZLE/FOG WITH LATE DAY RAIN AND SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS. TURNING COLDER AND WINDY. HIGHS IN THE 50S.

THURSDAY: MORNING SNOW SHOWERS, THEN GRADUAL CLEARING. WINDY. HIGHS AROUND 40 DEGREES.

FRIDAY: EARLY DAY MOUNTAIN SNOWS SHOWERS, OTHERWISE PARTLY CLOUDY. HIGHS IN THE 30S.

WEEKEND: SUNNY TO MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE 30S.

MONDAY: SUNNY TO MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE 40S.

TUESDAY: MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH RAIN SHOWERS DEVELOPING. HIGHS IN THE 50S

HAVE A GREAT REST OF YOUR DAY!
