Adam’s NOVA Forecast for 4.29.19

Nova Forecast

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you were able to enjoy the weekend. The last Monday of the month is getting off to a rather chilly start, with frost advisories in place for northeastern parts of the viewing area through mid-morning. Under mostly sunny skies, temperatures will at least rebound into the low to mid 60s. Cloud cover, however, increases as we head into the evening. Showers and a few thunderstorms are possible tonight as a warm front lifts northward. Shower and storm chances will remain in place on Tuesday with even warmer weather on the way. Highs may reach the low 80s…quite the case of whiplash!

Wednesday’s temperature forecast is a bit tricky, as a backdoor cold front tries to push through the area. If this is successful, temperatures may not get out of the 60. If not, we could see another day in the 80s. Regardless, we’ll be right near that boundary…so keep an eye out for updates in that regard. Shower and thunderstorm chances will linger through the rest of the week, with Thursday and Friday holding the best chance for some unsettled weather. Thursday will also be another rather warm day with highs well into the 80s for many of us. A frontal boundary will move through the region on Friday, sending more seasonable weather and drier conditions for the weekend.

Here’s a look at your extended forecast:

Today: Mostly sunny at first, then partly cloudy later on. Highs: 61-66. Winds will be light and variable.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and a few storms. Lows: 53-58. South winds at 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday: Partly to mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs: 78-83. Southwest winds at 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy with showers likely and a chance of thunderstorms. Highs in the low to mid 80s.

Friday: Partly to mostly cloudy with a chance of thunderstorms. Highs in the low 70s.

Saturday: A few morning showers, then gradual clearing. Highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Sunday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the low 70s.

Have a great day!
