Adam’s NOVA Forecast for 4.19.19

Nova Forecast

Thank Goodness it’s Friday! The day will start off quiet and dry, but rain will begin to make its move later in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will also climb back into the 70s ahead of a slow moving low pressure system that will impact the region through Friday night. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely as we go into the night, with some storms becoming strong to severe in intensity. Gusty winds and heavy rain are the primary concerns, but any storm is capable of producing more than just this. A flash flood watch is in effect for all areas along and east of I-81 through Saturday morning. Please be sure to keep an eye out for future updates. Rain may linger into the day on Saturday and even in parts of Easter Sunday as an upper level low is very slow to get out of here. While neither day is a wash-out, be sure to have an umbrella handy if and when you head out for any plans. Saturday’s high will hover near 70, but we’re cooler on Sunday.

Drier weather attempts to move back into the picture next Monday as a surface area of high pressure moves into the region. This break is short lived, as a frontal boundary will attempt to push through the region from north to south. Ahead of the front, we’ll warm up well into the 70s and even the low 80s on Tuesday before the front passes through the area. When this passage occurs is still a bit hazy, so Wednesday’s temperature forecast is a little suspect at the moment. Regardless, a chance for some pop-up showers and thunderstorms will remain in place through the middle of next week.

Here’s a look at your extended forecast:
