Adam’s NOVA Forecast for 4.18.19

Nova Forecast

Happy Thursday, everyone! Easterly winds will help keep things slightly cool out there, though temperatures by day and by night have been consistently above average. As a warm front lifts to our north today, temperatures will surge well into the mid to upper 70s under partly sunny skies. This will also spark the chance for a few isolated showers from time to time. Overall, however, it’s still a nice day to get outside.

Cloud cover will increase overnight ahead of Friday’s low pressure system. While much of the morning is dry, showers and some gusty thunderstorms are likely the later into the day we go. A few of these storms may be strong to severe in intensity, with heavy rain and gusty winds acting as the primary concerns. Rain will likely linger into Saturday as an upper level low will be rather slow to get out of the region. A few rumbles of thunder are possible during this time as well.

Much of Easter Sunday should be dry beyond a few showers in the morning. Another frontal boundary will approach from the north and stall nearby. We’ll be on the south side of the front, keeping warm air in place. We’ll see 70s for highs through the first half of next week with a daily chance for some scattered showers and a few thunderstorms.

Here’s a look at your extended forecast:

Today: Partly sunny with some isolated showers possible. Highs: 75-80. Southeast winds at 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight: Becoming partly to mostly cloudy. Lows: 57-62. South winds at 10 to 15 mph.

Friday: Cloudy with rain likely and evening thunderstorms possible. Highs in the mid 70s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with showers likely. Highs in the upper 60s.

Sunday: A few morning showers, then becoming partly sunny. Highs in the low to mid 60s.

Monday: Partly sunny with a few showers possible. Highs in the mid 70s.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy with a chance of rain. Highs in the mid 70s.

Wednesday: Partly to mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. Highs in the low 70s.

Have a great day!
