Adam’s NOVA Forecast for 2.6.19

Nova Forecast

Happy Wednesday, everyone! While the day should get off to a dry start, we’re keeping an eye on rain later in the day and into the night. This comes along as a wave of energy travels eastward along a stalled boundary. This same stalled boundary will act as a border between cooler and warmer temperatures within the region. Areas to its north and east will struggle to get out of the mid 40’s today, while those to its south may at least get into the mid 50’s. Thursday’s temperature forecast is tricky as well, with a warm front slowly lifting northward. Areas to its south may reach the 60’s with little trouble, while northern and eastern parts of the area may be stuck in the 50’s. Regardless, we do have another chance for some scattered showers.

A stronger cold front will pass through the area early on Friday, with the boundary clearing the region by the early afternoon. As a result, temperatures will steadily fall through the second half of the day with high temperatures peaking earlier in the morning. Beyond some morning showers, much of the afternoon is dry. The weekend will be noticeably chillier, with highs on both days struggling to get out of the 30’s. Saturday should be the better day with high pressure more firmly in place. Cloud cover increases late on Sunday, and a rain/snow potential arrives early next week via a new cold front.

Here’s a look at your extended forecast:

Today: Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain, especially in the afternoon. Highs: 46-51. Southeast winds at 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight: Cloudy with scattered showers likely. Lows: 38-43. Winds will be light and variable.

Thursday: Partly to mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. Highs in the mid to upper 50’s.

Friday: Morning showers, then gradually clearing. Highs in the upper 50’s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny and chilly. Highs in the mid 30’s.

Sunday: Sunny at first, then increasing cloudiness. Highs in the upper 30’s to low 40’s.

Monday: Partly to mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow. Highs in the upper 30’s.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with rain and snow possible. Highs in the upper 30’s.

Have a great day!
