After a few showers this morning, clouds will begin to clear out of the region. We are looking for partly cloudy skies as we head late into the afternoon and early evening with clearer skies to come overnight.
This clearing along with a rush of cold air will send our temperatures down into the 30’s and 40’s overnight Sunday and into Monday morning.
A cold start is in the forecast as you make your way back to work on Monday. Be sure to bundle up the kids before they head off to school. Temperatures though for the afternoon should rebound into the 60’s. The risk of frost is low on Monday morning, but areas in higher elevations may see temperatures nearing 32 degrees on Monday morning and should consider covering plants sensitive to the colder weather. Most of the region should remain frost free.
As we head into Monday night, clouds will begin to head into the region as a cold front approaches the area on Tuesday. A rumble of thunder will be possible Monday night into Tuesday with a few isolated to scattered thundershowers. We may be able to see a thunderstorm if not Tuesday, but Wednesday and Thursday as the atmosphere become primed for thunderous activity. Be sure to stay tuned to WDVM 25 for the latest weather information.
Temperatures will cool off as we head into the latter part of the week. A shower and a storm are possible Friday before clearing out on next Saturday with temperatures dropping into the 60’s.
