Adam’s I270 Forecast for 5.1.19

I270 Forecast

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Much of the region is getting off to cloudy but quiet start, and the rest of the morning should follow suit. A backdoor cold front will push southward through the region, putting a literal split in our high temperatures over the region. North and east of the front, we’ll stay in the upper 60s to low 70s. South and west, however, we’ll run into the low 80s. Everyone gets in on the chance for some isolated showers and thunderstorms a little later this afternoon and evening.

This front lifts northward on Thursday, putting everyone in the warm sector. 80s are likely throughout the area, and we’ll also run the risk (again) for some scattered showers and thunderstorms…a few of which may be strong to severe. A cold front will pass through the region on Friday, sparking yet another chance for rain and some gusty thunderstorms. In a similar manner to Thursday, highs on Friday will remain above average.

More rain is likely this weekend as Friday’s front lifts back to the north as a warm front, and the associated low pressure system moves eastward. High pressure attempts to take over to start next week, but another cold front will be close behind that.

Here’s a look at your extended forecast:

Today: Partly to mostly cloudy with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Highs: 68-73 to the north and east, 78-83 to the south and west. Southeast winds at 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday: Partly sunny with a chance of thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 80s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers likely. Highs in the mid 70s.

Monday: Becoming partly to mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 70s.

Have a great day!
