Adam’s I270 Forecast for 4.11.19

I270 Forecast

Happy Thursday, everyone! Once again, we’ll start the day on a quiet and rather pleasant note thanks to high pressure doing just enough to keep our weather calm. Cloud cover will be a bit more prevalent today, but that’s the only blemish to an otherwise great day. High pressure will continue to push to our east, setting up a return flow over the Mid-Atlantic. As a result, overnight lows tonight won’t be as comfortable. Southerly flow will stick with us through Friday ahead of an approaching cold front. This will also spark the chance for some late day showers and thunderstorms…a few of which may pack an extra punch. Keep an eye on the skies if you have outdoor plans tomorrow afternoon and evening.

This front will come to a crawl as it pushes eastward, keeping a small chance for an isolated shower or storm in place for the first half of the weekend. With that said, much of the day should remain dry and also unseasonably warm. Low pressure will track into the region on Sunday, sending yet another solid chance for some showers and a few thunderstorms our way. Some of this rain may linger into early Monday, but a gradual clearing process should take over as we go into the first half of next week.

Here’s a look at your extended forecast:

Today: Partly to mostly sunny. Highs: 62-67. Winds will be light and variable.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy. Lows: 48-53. Southeast winds at 5 to 10 mph.

Friday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and a few thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening. Highs in the low 70s.

Saturday: Partly to mostly cloudy with isolated showers and storms possible. Highs in the mid to upper 70s.

Sunday: Cloudy with rain likely and perhaps a storm or two. Highs in the low 70s.

Monday: A few morning showers, then becoming partly cloudy. Highs in the low to mid 60s.

Tuesday: Partly sunny. Highs in the mid 60s.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy with an isolated shower or two possible. Highs in the low to mid 70s.

Have a great day!
