Good Wednesday evening, everyone! It was another warm and sunny day throughout the region, but as we go into the end of the work and school week things are going to chance a bit. Until then, we’ll enjoy another clear and calm night. Overnight lows won’t be as cool, with temperatures closer to 60 degrees rather than 50 degrees. Southerly flow aloft will send warm and moist air our way, giving us a chance for some afternoon pop-up showers and thunderstorms. Otherwise, we’ll be partly cloudy with temperatures climbing into the mid 80’s once again.
We’ll remain rather warm on Friday and even become more humid as well. As a result, a new chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms arises. Highs continue to climb closer to 90 degrees in a few areas, and this warmth is expected to last through the calendar weekend. Saturday and Sunday should end up being more dry than not, but I can’t rule out a chance for some thunderstorms popping up now and again.
Memorial Day itself shouldn’t be a wash-out, but showers and a few thunderstorms are possible as we keep an eye on an area of low pressure to our southeast. Onshore flow should keep temperatures in check through the first half of the next work week. Granted, it won’t be as chilly as last weekend, but we’ll be a lot closer to average. Highs from Monday through Wednesday should range in the mid to upper 70’s with daily chance for some unsettled weather.
