A Berkeley County woman charged with setting her home on fire, killing her two children made a court appearance on June 1 for a pre-trial hearing.
Today’s pre-trial determined whether certain statements were acceptable. Officers took the witness stand, discussing what they recalled during their interviews with Molly Jo Delgado. A major discussion was Delgado’s intelligence level.
In January of last year, Delgado allegedly set her mobile home on fire. According to court documents, she locked her two children, 5-year-old Justin Delgado and three-year-old Delmar Delgado inside.
“Today’s pre-trial determined whether certain statements were admissible and the judge hasn’t made a ruling and I’m bound to not comment on those proceedings,” said Catie Wilkes Delligatti, Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney.
The jury trial is set for June 12.
