You might be able to see the veiled woman out in Williamsport at tonight’s kick off of the town’s haunted walking tours.
Story has it that there was a woman in Williamsport dressed with a black veil and lantern searching for her cheating husband. The story then changed to a man dressing as a woman to catch his cheating wife.
This story has been told in Williamsport for at least 100 years and may be one of the many stories shared during the annual haunted walking tours that go on every weekend leading up to Halloween and the town’s Moonlight Festival held in the streets.
The tour costs $5 and starts at 8 p.m. at Tony’s Pizza on Conocheague Street.
