West Virginia casino deals with DraftKings

West Virginia

Penn National Gaming, Inc., the parent company of Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races, has signed a licensing agreement with the popular online sports-betting platform, DraftKings.

In an effort to accelerate sports betting nation-wide and to monetize extra resources, the casino sold one of its spare sports-betting licenses to DraftKings, giving the mobile platform the opportunity to enter the newly sanctioned market in the mountain state.

“They are going to be viewed as a valued partner in West Virginia. It’s certainly good for the sports betting public in West Virginia to have an opportunity to have choice in who they decide to place their sports bets with,” said Eric Schippers of Penn National Gaming, Inc.

Penn National Gaming plans to make its own online sports betting platform within the next year.
