Students rally in Berkeley County to advocate for Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation

West Virginia

Students for Life of America, the nation’s largest pro-life youth organization held a rally in front of Senator Joe Manchin’s office urging him to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Support for Kavanaugh was strong in Martinsburg on Saturday as the students took part in a nationwide “Justice 4 Life” tour. Kavanaugh is President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee. Members from Students for Life say Kavanaugh reflects the values of West Virginia.

“What’s interesting is this is a very political issue and it’s interesting to see young people involved in politics and involved in a supreme court nomination fight,” said Matt Lamb, Director of Communications for Students for Life of America.

“There are friends that are not in my life because of abortion,” said Lori Cascio, Virginias Regional Coordinator. “I think this causes a lot of pain to women and after hearing their story, I can’t sit still. I can’t let this happen.”

Hearings for Supreme Court nominee are set to start on September 4.
