Sheriff’s deputies investigating accidental death of 70-year-old Berkeley Springs man

Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating the death of a 70-year-old man.

According to investigators, Gordon Gregory of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia died in an apparent accident when he drove down the hill from his home and got stuck in soft ground. When he got out, he fell into a drainage ditch and was found lying beside his mini-van.

Sheriff K.C. Bohrer says him, Chief Walter and Deputy Roper responded after family members had come to check on the man and found him deceased in a drainage ditch at the bottom of a hill on his property. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police say there are no signs of foul play. Gregory was last seen alive December 15.
