Senator Capito thanks federal employees post government shutdown

United States Senator Shelley Moore Capito thanks federal employees for bearing with her through negotiations regarding border security.

In a video message, addressed her efforts to prevent a government shutdown from taking place again.

She thanked employees from the Transportation Security Administration as well as employees in West Virginia who were furloughed during the time of the government’s longest running shutdown.

“I have enjoyed the opportunities I have had over the years to visit so many of these amazing facilities and to meet the men and women who run them,” said Sen. Capito in her video message. “I will keep fighting here in Washington on behalf of all of you as well as your families and I will work hard to come to an agreement to fund the government and secure our borders.”

According to President Donald Trump, the government is expected to remain open from now until Feb. 15 for negotiations regarding border security.
