Sen. Capito set to chair first Homeland Security Appropriations subcommittee hearing of the year

United States Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) will chair her first Homeland Security Appropriations sub-committee hearing on March 27.

This meeting will take a look at the budget request for the coast guard. A press release sent of by Capito reported that in 2018 the Coast Guard seized over 200 metric tons of cocaine and saved nearly 4,000 livess which included 992 lives during hurricane response efforts.

A report also showed that during this fiscal year, the Coast Guard has already saved 992 lives in regards to hurricane response efforts.
