No injuries reported after tractor trailer rolls over on Route 9 in Berkeley Springs

West Virginia

An early morning crash involving a tractor trailer on  Thursday morning caused traffic to back up for hours in Morgan County.

The tractor trailer rolled over as it headed down the eastbound lane on Route 9 at the 7,000 block of Martinsburg Road. The accident was reported at 4 a.m. Investigators with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office say Norman Wilkinson was driving with his wife when he likely lost control, spilling building equipment onto the roadways. There were no injuries. The highway was closed so crews could clean up debris.

“It was just laying over on its side. It was going to Lowe’s from what I understand,” said Wayne Kerns, a tow truck driver. “It’s just a routine thing for us. We were just on one yesterday, so we never know what we’re going to get.”

Sheriff Deputies said Wilkinson likely faces traffic charges, such as failure to maintain control.
