Martinsburg mother pleads no contest to killing her two young sons

West Virginia

A Martinsburg mother pleaded no contest on Tuesday to intentionally setting fires that killed her two young children.

Molly Delgado, 30, is accused of lighting fire to the beds of her five-year-old and three-year-old sons on January 24, 2017, at their home on 58 Cracked Walnut Way. Investigators say she then locked the children inside the rooms, and left the house.

Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney Catie Wilkes Delligatti says Delgado neither disputes nor admits to the two counts of first-degree murder. Her jury trial is scheduled for March.

She is currently being held at the Eastern Regional Jail. If convicted, Delgado could be eligible for parole after serving 15 years.
