Harpers Ferry National Historic Park announced that they are increasing their park entrance fees.
Officials from the park say the entrance fees will increase in 2019 and then possibly again in 2020.
Vehicle fees will increase to $15 and entrance “per person” fees will increase to $7. They say the increase is to help enhance their visitor experience.
“The entrance fees are going up just to help with infrastructure needs and visitor experience, some of the fee dollars go towards projects in the park up here at the visitors center we’re going to be re painting the roofs of the buildings this next year, also be working on the lower town restrooms,” said Autumn Cook, Harpers Ferry National Historic Park.
The fee increase will start January 1 of 2019.
