Former West Virginia Senator Richard Ojeda ends presidential campaign

Richard Ojeda announced today that he is ending his 2020 presidential campaign.

Ojeda made the announcement on Friday, January 25, 2019, in a post in a Facebook post.

In the post, he said, “The last thing I want to do is accept money from people who are struggling for a campaign that does not have the ability to compete.”

Ojeda announced his campaign on Veterans Day, Monday, November 12th, 2018, at the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

On Wednesday, January 9th, 2019, Ojeda announced that he was resigning from the West Virginia State Senate, and he officially submitted his letter of resignation on Monday, January 14th, 2019.

Ojeda also said in the statement, ” I want you to know though that my fight does not end! I may not have the money to make the media pay attention but I will continue raising my voice and highlighting the issues the working class, the sick and the elderly face in this nation.”
