Commuters will be down to one lane at the Opequon Bridge near Martinsburg.
The Opequon Bridge area next to Douglas Grove Road is down to one lane so officials can repair a three inch bump in the road, according to West Virginia Highway officials. Crews started examining the roadways on Tuesday and the repairs will take approximately three weeks to complete. Crews say they don’t expect the construction to have an impact on commuter times.
“It’s some kind of base failure that we’re trying to restore and put the roadway back. We’re not real sure until we dig down and see what the actual base is,” said Chris Corbin, maintenance assistant.
Construction crews have also expressed concern about drivers speeding past their sites, so please remember to slow down when passing active construction zones.
