With the holiday season in full force, the Rocky Knolls school is preparing for its annual Christmas pageant by giving their neighbors the gift of song and glee.
“We always share our with those who will let us come into their home and we bring some holiday cheer to the elderly folks,” said Heidi Marté, Rocky Knolls music teacher.
And this year, the students visited the Crossings Assistant Living Center in Martinsburg, singing songs, playing instruments and reciting spoken word performances.
“We start rehearsing the first of October, sometimes we sneak in a little practice at the end of September, and then we hit it hard from October to until this week. This is the big deal,” said Marté.
And it isn’t just the kids who are excited for the performance. The residents enjoyed their sneak preview as well.
“We were so glad to have them come over to the community for the holidays, and bring their gifted and talented children over,” said Karen Moss of The Crossings at Martinsburg.
The community at The Crossings are in luck because the students at Rocky Knolls perform their Christmas pageant annually.
