Dead infant found in trash can in D.C.

WASHINGTON (WDVM) — The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a death after finding a dead infant inside of a plastic bag in a trash can.

According to a police report, officers were called to the 100 Block of Irving Street, NW, just before 8:00 a.m. on Monday, May 17, for a report of an unconscious child. Officers were directed to a unisex bathroom, where they found the remains in the trash can.

D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services Medical Director, Dr. Robert Holman, responded with officers and pronounced the infant dead.
