DC Mayor Bowser updates the District on new safety measures


Bowser to speak at 11 a.m.

WASHINGTON (WDVM) — D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and other officials discussed policing in the District Monday at 11 a.m.

Officials discussed different bills and acts that will be put into effective along with voted on during a legislative meeting taking place Tuesday, June 9.

An emergency bill was mentioned that would provide new guidelines for officers in the District. The Competence of Policing and Justice Reform Amendment Act, proposes several changes in the way officers handle residents along with the ways officers are held accountable through the usage of body cameras.
