Washington County granted millions of dollars for road expansions

Get ready for some more construction on Washington County roads in the near future.
Maryland Senators Ben Cardin and Chris van Hollen announced a $1.8 million federal grant for the first phase of an extension to Halfway Boulevard in Hagerstown.
The project, funded by the Appalachian Regional Commission, will continue the road west to connect with Route 63.
This extension is part of a plan to develop the surrounding land into a business park which could bring almost 400 new jobs to Washington County.
