Virginians must obtain REAL ID to board flights in 2020

Virginia

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles is urging drivers to switch over to the REAL ID.

The new license is updated to meet federal requirements. By October 2020, you must have a REAL ID in order to board a domestic flight or access federal facilities such as military bases.

To obtain the new license you will need to provide one proof identity, one proof of legal presence, two proofs of Virginia residency and one proof of your social security number.
