Virginia man may face deportation for sexually assaulting a child

More from Northern Virginia

A Frederick County, Virginia, man is facing possible deportation, after pleading guilty Monday to sexually assaulting a girl in Woodstock, Va. between 2007 and 2011.

Rosendo Gonzalez Garcia entered an Alford plea to the charge of aggravated sexual battery against a child under the age of 13.

He was also charged with two counts of sodomy of a minor under the age of 13, charges that were dropped under his plea agreement.

Gonzalez Garcia, who lived in Winchester, Va. at the time, was arrested by Woodstock police last year.

He faces the possibility of deportation to his country of origin, Mexico. If he allowed to remain in the United States, the plea agreement calls for 20 months in prison with eight years of probation.
