Verizon Wireless 911 Outages in Northern Virginia

Virginia

UPDATE: Officials say that the outage related to the 911 service for Verizon Wireless customers has been resolved as of 10:45 a.m.

The NOVA region is experiencing outages for its 911 system on Verizon Wireless Thursday.

According to local officials, areas including Prince William County and Alexandria are unable to receive 911 texts or calls from phones with service from Verizon.

In Prince William County, authorities say customers of Verizon Wireless should contact the non-emergency number, (703)-792-6500.

For those in Alexandria, they say the non-emergency number is also affected, and residents are urged to contact 911 from the nearest available landline if you are in an emergency.

Other areas affected include Arlington, Loudoun and Fairfax Counties, as well as the city of Manassas.
