The Valley Health Foundations and Development Funds thanked their supporters with their 13th annual Pink Ribbon Celebration.
Over the last decade, the foundations have raised more than $42 million to help their cancer patients. Valley Health has been able to build a new cancer center, bring in robotic-assisted surgery, offer 3D mammograms, fund wigs for patients who cannot afford them, fund a cancer survivors retreat and so much more.
“The foundation, through events like the Pink Ribbon event, includes donors that have been very generous. They help to make a difference in people’s lives every day,” said Valley Health senior vice president Skip Philips.
A popular item with the patients includes the Valley Health care bags. Last year, they were able to give out more than 400 to newly diagnosed patients.
