Va. Governor Northam sets date for gun violence special session

Virginia

Virginia Governor Ralph Northam has set the date for a special session to address the issue of gun violence in the state. This comes on the heels of the mass shooting in Virginia Beach last week.

Friday, he signed a proclamation to summon general assembly members back to Richmond on Tuesday, July 9, and is encouraging lawmakers to consider proposals on universal background checks, a ban on assault weapons, an extreme risk protective order and more.
