UPDATE: Person of interest identified in Burke double homicide

Virginia

UPDATE (8/21/21): After the double homicide was discovered early Friday morning, a third resident of the home, 33-year-old Bradley Lister, is unaccounted for at this time.

The two bodies found have since been identified as two women. Both were found in a bathroom of a home on the 6100 block of Eagle Landing Rd. in Burke, Va.

Lister is considered a person of interest, as detectives believe he could have more information about the circumstances that led up to the murders.

One car related to the home was missing but has since been recovered. FCPD detectives will process it for evidence.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is conducting autopsies to identify the women.

BURKE, Va. (WDVM) — Fairfax County officers are on the scene of a death investigation in the area of 6100 block of Eagle Landing Road Friday morning around 8:15 am.

Detectives say two adults were found deceased inside of a home while responding to a welfare check. A family member that doesn’t reside in the home called for the welfare check, and that’s when FCPD found the double homicide. Both victims are believed to have been deceased for some time.

They are not calling it a murder-suicide at the moment.

No details on the cause of death. Police haven’t been able to identify the two victims, but say there was no evidence of forced entry.

This remains an active scene. Police do not believe this is a random act of violence.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
