Three families have been displaced after a car crashed into their apartment building.

According to a press release, Stanley Etienne  fell asleep while driving down Kendrick Lane and drove his blue Toyota Prius into the ground floor of a Virginia Avenue apartment complex. The resident of the apartment hit was not home during the time of the crash, but her dog was left inside.

“One of our neighbors Beth went in and got the dog out. Because their dog was freaking out and we held onto him until they were able to come and get him. But Jared and Devon lost a lot of their stuff because there were water and sewer pipes that broke,” said building resident, Samantha Higgins.

According to a press release, the driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and has been charged with failure to maintain control of his vehicle and driving without a seat belt.
