The Grinch is doing everything but stealing Christmas this year, in fact he’s bringing it to the town of Front Royal.
“So we’ve got Whoville Christmas going on behind us. We have the Christmas tree here, downtown Front Royal Christmas celebration. It’s that time of year,” said event organizer William Huck.
The Chamber of Commerce holds their annual Christmas-fest on the first weekend of December and Whoville was this year’s theme.
Even though this year’s event was on a bright and sunny day, they had their first community snowball fight. The snowball fight seemed to be a big hit with an even bigger turnout than expected.
“We were just snowballing ideas and we started talking about the fact that one of us had seen these fake snowballs in a store somewhere and we thought why not have a community snowball fight,” said chamber of commerce president Niki Foster.
Whoville Christmas is a day long event ending with a Christmas parade and a tree lighting ceremony .
