WINCHESTER, Va. (WDVM) — A single-engine Jabiru J170-D veered off the runway and struck a hangar during landing at the Winchester Regional Airport Monday morning, FAA officials say.

Virginia State Police said a trooper responded to the crash around 11:41 a.m. on the 490 block of Airport Road. Investigators believe the plane was attempting to land when it collided with an aircraft hangar.

The pilot, a 49-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and was treated at Winchester Medical Center. Nobody on the ground was injured, police say.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Virginia State Police are investigating the incident.
