A temporary drop-in center has opened in Loudoun County to help people take care of their basic needs.
Drop-in services, including access to shower and laundry facilities, will now be available at the Sterling Community Center. The services are available for adults 18 and older with an ID on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 p.m. – 7 a.m.
“We will be operating a program that offers bag lunches a hot meal and a warm place to sleep in addition to relationships with staff that are professionals to build relationships and hopefully move clients from homelessness into housing,” Beth Driggers, Executive Director for Loudoun County Programs said.
“Loudoun County is providing a bus that leaves from the Douglass Community Center at 9 pm and takes them down to the Sterling Community Center,” Fran Coughlin, Division Manager for Loudoun County Community Services said.
Drop-in services will return to its permanent location at the Loudoun Homeless Services Center in Leesburg when renovations are complete May 2019.
