Taking a stand against racism

Virginia

As Virginians continue to hear about the shocking developments coming out of the state house in Richmond, some are working to use that in their favor.

Friday night dozens gathered to hear from area known minority activists to see how they can use the shocking images from Governor Northam as means to achieve justice for racial matters.
Organizers held this in a public space to get the community’s input as to how they can use their voice heard for real change.

“Influencing other people, there is so much value that could come from not just what people hear from us tonight but how they engage in conversation with other white people, in alignment in solidarity with us,” said Whitney Parnell, activist for racial justice.

This group plans on continuing to work with the area to improve race relations within the Northern Virginia communities.
