Skyline Drive is now reopened from Front Royal to Rockfish Gap.
Shenandoah National Park staff have been working for months after several snow storms and the government shutdown to clean up the hanging branches, fallen trees, and debris that covered the park.
The park also called in crews from George Washington Memorial Parkway to help clean up the damage.
On Thursday, all of Skyline Drive was officially reopened and plenty of people were out over the weekend enjoying the sights and the trails that the park has to offer.
“It’s got a lot of nature…It’s used by a lot of through hikers, it has a lot of different stories to it. It’s just a great place to be able to say ‘I’m from Virginia,'” said Skyline Drive visitor Russell Sanders.
