This week is National Infrastructure Week and Winchester is working on many new projects.
Right now the city is replacing water and sewer on Kent Street and Woodstock Lane and continuing their meter replacement project.
Within the next few months, the city will be making repairs to the water treatment plant buildings, starting the Hope Drive extension project, along with sidewalk improvements. The next phase of Green Circle Trail will begin along with many other projects.
“We are still playing catch up. For a lot of years, we have infrastructure that just continues to age and age. So as far as sidewalks go and utilities, our capital improvements plan is really heavy with those types of projects,” said Winchester city engineer Kelly Henshaw.
This is the 7th National Infrastructure Week.
