Police investigating homicide in Dumfries

DUMFRIES, Va. (WDVM) — A 19-year-old man is dead in Dumfries after reports of a shooting, according to the Prince William County Police Department.

The victim was identified by police as Devonte Lee Ivy, 19 of Woodbridge, Virginia on Wednesday. Police arrested a suspect on Tuesday, identified as Edward Kusi-Johnson, 18 of Woodbridge. The full update of the arrest can be seen here.

According to police, the shooting happened on the 16900 block of Porters Inn Drive inside the Shorehaven apartment complex. Police and fire crews responded to the scene around 9:47 p.m. and provided first aid to the victim, who police initially only identified as a 19-year-old man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
