UPDATED: Police investigate fatal shooting in Manassas overnight

UPDATE at 10:44 a.m: One man is dead and another is injured after a shooting in Manassas late Friday, Prince William County police confirm.

Officers responded to a call about a shooting and said they found two men with gunshot wounds at the Manassas Mall on Sudley Rd around 11:16 p.m. Friday. Both of them were flown to area hospitals to be treated for their injuries.

Police say 34-year-old Jahmar Latravern Graves died at the hospital. Graves’ death is being investigated as a homicide. The other shooting victim, a 22-year-old man, is expected to live.

Investigators say they believe there was an altercation in the parking lot when the two were shot and the crowd dispersed before officers arrived.

No arrests have been made. PWCPD is asking anyone with information to come forward.


ORIGINAL REPORT: MANASSAS, Va. (WDVM) — Two men were injured in a shooting in Manassas overnight, Prince William County Police confirmed in a tweet early Saturday morning.

Officers say it happened along the 8300 block of Sudley Rd. The two men were each taken to area hospitals.

PWCPD says no suspects are in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
