The Alexandria City Police Department is investigating a shooting in the 1500 block of Cameron Street on Tuesday, which was reportedly in the parking lot of Jefferson-Houston School.
At around 3 p.m., police determined there wasn’t any danger to students and the school later released a statement, saying in part, “The school was immediately secured and students who had been outside on the fields were brought inside. The school remained on secure status until dismissal at 3:50 p.m.”
On Wednesday police arrested 26-year-old Deangelo Griffin for attempted malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. A public information officer told WDVM shots were fired in the middle of an altercation.
