Elected officials from across Virginia gathered in Winchester on November 2 to celebrate a multi-million dollar investment into the city.
Among them, Governor Ralph Northam, Congresswoman Barbara Comstock, and Delegate Chris Collins celebrated the announcement of a $10.3 million expansion of the O’Sullivan Films Continental operation.
O’Sullivan Films Inc. has been manufacturing in Winchester since the operation first opened in 1932, and in June 2017, joined Continental AG.
The O’Sullivan Films location on Valley Avenue was chosen over a site in Mexico for the expansion, which will allow the company to hire over 60 new workers and produce new products.
“We’re expanding our synthetic leather division with some new technologies,” said O’Sullivan Films CEO Scott Krueger. “We’ll be ramping that up in early 2019.”
The company is currently hiring to fill 61 new positions created by the investment.
