One man injured after Manassas shooting, suspect in custody

Virginia

Authorities in Prince William County are investigating a shooting that left one man injured.

The shooting happened at the Maplewood Park apartments in Manassas around 10 a.m. Tuesday. Police say an argument broke out between two men who were attending a party at the apartment complex. At some point, one of the men involved was shot and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“These two people were known to one another, there was a party and I believe there probably was alcohol being consumed at that party. What led to the altercation I’m not sure but there was definitely a verbal altercation between the victim and the suspect and then the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim,” said Sgt. Jonathan Perok, spokesperson for Prince William County Police Department.

The suspected shooter was later located and taken into custody by police.
