UPDATE: One charged in Sterling shooting

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (WDVM) — The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has arrested a teenager connected to a shooting that occurred Saturday night in Sterling, Virginia.

Antonio Fernandez, 19, of Sterling, was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony following a shooting Saturday afternoon on Commerce Street near E Holly Avenue.

LCSO deputies arrived at the scene at 4:45 p.m. Saturday to an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim is in an area hospital in stable condition.

Fernandez is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond. 

Officials say both Fernandez and the victim knew each other and that there was no threat to the community.

The investigation is ongoing regarding the circumstances of the shooting.
