New scooter legislation is zipping on over to Virginia’s governor’s desk.
House Bill 2752, passed in the General Assembly on Thursday, would authorize local governments to regulate the operation of scooter vendors. It could also change the definition of a motorized scooter or skateboard, ensuring they have no seats, removing the maximum power limit, making sure they weigh less than 100 pounds and cannot go faster than 20 mph. It calls for various operational requirements.
